On April 3rd was held in Lille the final fashion show of the 15th edition of Concours Jeunes Créateurs, the main event promoted by the non-profit organization Talons Aiguilles. Active since 1992, the association has always had the mission of promoting young European designers. The topic of this CJC’s edition was “second skin”. The designers showcased their collection in front of a jury whose president was Chantal Thomas, the famous French lingerie designer and prestigious name within the fashion system. The winner of this edition is the Alumna Shirley Ko Sze Wan, a Chinese designer who in 2016 attended the MA in Fashion Design Womenswear at the Paris School of Fashion. Her collection, called "re-continuum", is made up of dresses in transparent pleated tulle with nude and grey shades. According to her concept, the garments aren’t only the second skin of the body, but are part of the skin itself so that dresses and bodies become one thing. Fashion, according to Shirley’s vision, is about freedom to explore our body and therefore our second skin.
