Istituto Marangoni Milano celebrates another of its alumni. Andrea Pompilio, who graduated in 1995, is included in the list of "Fashion's Next Generation" by The Wall Street Journal - online edition. Talent, determination, ability to take risks without altering the DNA of a brand. These hallmarks of Pompilio’s work are what brought him to the attention ofThe Wall Street Journal and earned him a special mention among the best emerging designers of our time. After earning his master's degree in Fashion Design in 1995 at Istituto Marangoni in Milano, Andrea Pompilio plunged straight into the fashion world, immediately distinguishing himself by his sensitivity to the aesthetic of the Made in Italy brand,  a sensitivity embellished with bold international influences. In 2010 he launched his first men's collection Fall / Winter 2011, the following year he was the winner of the fashion contest Who is on Next? Pitti Immagine Uomo 2011, and last June his creations shone on the catwalks of Milan Men’s Fashion at the Armani Theatre, Via Bergognone in Milan. The Wall Street Journal cites his experience with major brands like Prada and Yves Saint Laurent as the springboard to an independent career studded with timely hits. WSJ.com reports the comment by Alessandra Rossi, commercial director at Yoox.com : "We think he has the potential to become a successful men’s fashion designer [...] due to his ability to reinvent the classics of menswear through original prints, colours and fabrics."
