An all-white set for the launch of MM6 Maison Margiela

Istituto Marangoni and MM6 Maison Margiela have launched a unique project that saw students of the Milano School of Fashion work on the set up of the brand’s boutique store in Milan’s Via Spiga, on the occasion of the presentation of the new A/W19 collection. Fashion Design students were given the task to recreate a lab-like ambience that would play as the perfect background to the official presentation of the label during the Milan Fashion Week. The young designers transformed the space into an all-white stage that feels vaporous, oversized and soft, just like the mood of the collection; the result is a mysterious and almost silenced atmosphere. All the surfaces, in fact, from floor to ceiling, have been completely covered in white, soft padding by the students, perfectly matching Maison Margiela’s style. To make the project even more special and evocative, each student chose an object from the vintage shop and re-worked it in a creative way. Pillows, telephones, chairs and lamps, covered in the puffed white padding, were given new life, reminiscence of the shapes and volumes of MM6 Maison Margiela collection. If you want to experience the dream-like atmosphere, you can visit Maison Margiela or MM6 Maison Margiela’s boutique in Milan, where the students’ work is currently displayed.
