In Conversation with Cristina Acidini
On Wednesday, December 14, Istituto Marangoni Firenze – The School of Fashion and Art will host in its Via de Tornabuoni premise the first appointment of the new academic year with “In Conversation With...”, the course of lectures and talks with the most prominent figures in fashion, art, and culture, interviewed by influential fashion journalists and commentators. Giving the first lecture, Cristina Acidini, President of Accademia delle Arti del Disegno and former head of the Soprintendenza Speciale per il Patrimonio Storico, Artistico ed Etnoantropologico e per il Polo Museale of the city of Firenze.
Internationally renowned art historian, teacher and writer, Cristina Acidini will talk on the theme: “About a dress: beauty and power in the portrait of Eleonora of Toledo painted by Bronzino”, exploring the connection between costume and the symbols of power in the Renaissance. A further deepening of the theme will be provided by her interview by a very special moderator: Eva Desiderio, Fashion and Society Editor at Quotidiano Nazionale, Il Resto del Carlino, La Nazione, Il Giorno, and quotidiano.net.
Followed by a cocktail at the nearby Obicà restaurant, “In Conversation With... Cristina Acidini” will take place on December 14, 2016, from 5:45 to 7pm, at Istituto Marangoni Firenze, 17, Via de Tornabuoni.
