Istituto Marangoni announces the launch of a special contest, in collaboration with Vogue Italia and conceived with the creative support of Vogue Talents, to promote and support new talents: a scouting open to all Italian high-school students who dream of a future career in the world of fashion and arts. The prizes available to the students are 50 scholarships in the amount of 5,000 euros each, up a maximum of 50% of the admission fee (for the first year of study), valid for one of the three-year courses offered by Istituto Marangoni for the locations of Milan and Florence, for the academic year 2018/19. Based on the course of interest, the candidates will be called to submit: FASHION DESIGN: 6 sketches that represent the applicant’s idea of a collection or an iconographic research of 10 images inspired by cinema or music related to a historical period of choice. The sketches or images will have to be accompanied by a brief text (max. 400 words) to explain how the project was interpreted and developed. FASHION BUSINESS: imagine having to open a business venture. What would be the ideal location? What kind of wardrobe would be most suitable to be sold? How can you enhance the client’s shopping experience? Provide some examples of brands that can inspire these answers. The work shall include a 600 words text, accompanied by images. FASHION STYLING: “styles and trends”, from street-styles to youth sub-cultures, from iconic styles to the hottest trends of the moment. Participants must produce some photos (max. 10), as if they were doing a reportage, to identify new fashion trends. Shots/images must be accompanied by a brief text (max. 400 words) to explain how the selected themes were interpreted using the language of photography. ART: Participants must develop an iconographic research, choosing art images related to a specific time period and depicting elements that may be connected to the modern age (i.e. brands such as Gucci or Versace). Participants must assemble 1 moodboard that shall include images through which they’ll demonstrate the link between art and fashion. The moodboard must be accompanied by a brief text (max. 400 words). The works must be submitted by May 2, 2018. The projects will be assessed by a jury chaired by Sara Sozzani Maino, Deputy Editor in Chief Vogue Italia and Head of Vogue Talents.   APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP
