Istituto Marangoni London announces its first design partnership with the acclaimed British furniture and product designer, Tom Dixon. The renowned international school, based around the world including London, Milan, Florence, Paris, Dubai, Miami, Mumbai, Shanghai and Shenzhen, has collaborated for many years with established professionals from the fashion and design industries, providing an opportunity for students to be guided and to learn directly from these creators before leaving to join their chosen industry. The appointment of Tom Dixon as a mentor for the London School’s BA (Hons) Interiors and Interior Design & Lighting graduating students is one of a number of announcements being made as part of the school’s 20^th anniversary this year.

Working across workshops and masterclasses, Tom Dixon will be a mentor to Istituto Maragoni BA (Hons) Interiors and Interior Design & Lighting graduating students on their final graduating projects. He will be helping to support and shape the future of young talented designers, sharing his experience and imparting knowledge across a broad range of design disciplines, as well as providing hands-on feedback. This compliments Istituto Marangoni’s commitment to enhance student’s experience while providing a platform to create innovative products, develop creative vision and encourage business expertise.

Tom Dixon is one of the most recognisable British names within the international design arena. The Creative Director of the eponymous brand ‘Tom Dixon’, that he established in 2002, specialises in the design of lighting, furniture and accessories that are appreciated for their pioneering use of materials and techniques. Rising to public prominence with his appointment as head of design at Habitat, he rejuvenated the brand later becoming its Creative Director. In 2007, Dixon launched Design Research Studio – an innovative interior and architectural design studio. He regularly exhibits new lighting and furniture collections during the Milan international Furniture Fair and London Design Festival, and his work is found in museum collections around the world. The company’s products are sold internationally in 90 countries.
