Designed to gauge students’ satisfaction and perception of their learning experience, the NSS is an annual national survey involving all final-year undergraduates at institutions in the United Kingdom.

This year, it also enabled UK schools & universities to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students’ experience, including the special measures taken by institutions to cope with the situation and wellbeing support.

Despite the exceptional circumstances with 20/21, the student survey results showed that Istituto Marangoni London has lived up to student expectations and even improved over the previous year (76% overall). Putting in place a combination of hybrid learning, course-specific digital resources, hybrid & in-person industry opportunities and clear, ongoing student advice, the London Fashion School has been able to continue to deliver innovation and excellence, scoring significantly above UK universities in academic support- giving good advice to make study choices (11% above UK average) and in student voice- acting on student feedback (17% above average).

‘I’m delighted to hear that our student experience and student satisfaction overall improved in 20/21. It's really impressive that student scores on our 'learning community' achievement raised during a COVID-pandemic period. Every member of our team worked hard to ensure students felt included, that advice was tailored and that regardless of studying online, in person or in hybrid mode, all students had ample opportunities to be together with peers, tutors and of course, industry. Networking and being together is still the best way to find yourself and launch your career’ said London School Director, Charlotte Gorse.

School Director of Education, Abdullah Abo Milhim concluded that ‘these results reflect the hard work, and the effectiveness of the measures and support strategies that our academic community of tutors and staff put in place to ensure that students’ experience and satisfaction remain at the very heart of everything we do. Our strong industry collaborations and relationships with leading fashion brands and consultancies enhanced the student experience, contributed to the success of industry projects, and spurred debates around matters of great interest to our students and fashion industry stakeholders.’
