Istituto Marangoni x Ecoalf: 15th Anniversary Tote Bag Contest

To mark its 15th anniversary, Ecoalf, a global icon in sustainable lifestyle, joined forces with Istituto Marangoni for a groundbreaking project that blends creativity, innovation, and environmental commitment. Over 2,000 young designers and creatives from the I’M Community were invited to contribute their creative designs for a limited-edition tote bag capsule collection featuring the registered claim Because there is no planet B® and crafted from upcycled fabrics.
These bags go far beyond being mere accessories—they are tangible symbols of a sustainable future and a testament to how design can drive meaningful environmental impact. The initiative unfolded as a contest within the I’M Community, challenging participants to reimagine recyclable tote bags made from materials like corn waste and recycled polyester, breathing new life into discarded materials while minimizing plastic use.
The designers presented innovative ideas that not only showcased their creative vision but also delivered a powerful message: design can lead change. The winning tote bags were officially presented together with Istituto Marangoni in Ecoalf’s stores in Milan, Madrid, Paris, and Barcelona, promoting a message of sustainability and innovation as a core value for both institutions.
