Marangoni / Influences
A runway in the middle of the magnificent American Cathedral in Paris served as the perfect setting for Influences, the 2019 Paris Fashion Show. The bright pink background coupled with the grandiose atmosphere of the cathedral, while the collections of the ten most talented designers of the Paris school took turns in front of the guests.
For the first time, on the catwalk, there were no models, but young influencers - among today’s most popular ones in France - which, like the school's talents, are also very much sensitive to aesthetics and innovation and share the designers’ goal of creating and preaching a unique and personal style.
The 10 students selected by the jury to present their creations are Federica Amodio, Sophie Cartier Freya Huynh Byeol Han Kim, Kim Yiju Manon Marasse Maria Radu, Riccardo Russo, Julia Stratmann and Aidana Zhumabayeva. Among these 10 students, Yiju Kim was awarded the title of "Fashion Designer of the Year", for her alternative vision of the everyday and her clear sense of colour.
“For this show, each of them was free to express their creativity without being limited by an imposed theme or style. For Istituto Marangoni it is very important to let the students' imagination run wild, "says Valérie Berdah Levy, director of the Paris School.
