It’s been a remarkable year for Rachel Scott, a graduate of Istituto Marangoni Milano and founder of Diotima. After being nominated for the LVMH Prize, the designer was awarded the Emerging Designer of The Year award at the CFDA on Monday, November 6.

Her hard-earned victory comes as a wonderful surprise, as the nomination was made by the members of the CFDA council, which is composed of the most important designers in the American scene, as recounted by the designer herself. "To be nominated by people I have always looked up to with admiration, and it still seems incredible to me that these people know my brand!"

Born in Jamaica and raised in London, Rachel Scott attended the Fashion Design Intensive course to hone her skills and acquire the tools that allowed her to take her first steps in the world of fashion, working as a consultant for European and American brands.

After an experience as an Assistant Designer at Costume National, she moved to New York, where she worked with brands such as J.Mendel, Elizabeth & James, and Rachel Comey. In 2020, she founded Diotima, a brand known for its minimalist style and strong commitment to sustainability.

Her innovative approach to fashion has earned her a loyal following of fashion enthusiasts who admire her commitment to redefining the traditional norms of fashion, as demonstrated by the numerous celebrities who chose her brand for the evening where the awards were presented, including Ayesha Curry, Aurora James, Ricky De Sole, and Eva Chen.
