The spread of artificial intelligence combined with cutting-edge robotic technologies and smart materials are deeply revolutionising the design scenario, unfolding a future where natural and artificial intelligence live together. With all the promises that this evolution brings about, it has instilled fear in people, stemming from the potential conflict between humans and machines. Yet design can favour their harmonious coexistence, bridging the past with the future, nature with nurture, dealing with technology from a humanistic viewpoint. This involves integrating technologies in sustainable design solutions, developing products that seamlessly incorporate state-of-the-art robotic and IA technologies.
