On the 4th of July, the graduating students of the Fashion Design course of Istituto Marangoni The Paris School of Fashion presented their work at the annual Fashion Show, showcasing for the first time their talent and creativity in front of an international audience of professionals, journalists and fashion enthusiasts. A special jury of teachers and executives of the school chose to give the Paris School of Fashion Designer of the Year award to Temilayo Subair, a Nigerian British student, for her menswear collection – a fascinating exploration in a fantasy post-war era, in which a bunch of men mutate and give rise to a new breed of warriors, part human and part animal. Inspired by architecture and 3D printing, Temilayo Subair is especially interested in the transformation of bi-dimensional designs into three-dimensional shapes – a theme thoroughly developed in her collection, thanks to her distinctive pattern making and fabric manipulation skills. Her passion for menswear, discovered only in her last year of study, follows that for womenswear and the expertise she holds in footwear and accessories; making her a well-rounded, promising fashion designer, who plans to carry on her studies with a MA in Menswear Tailoring before launching her own label.
