The first day at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design was not simply the official start of classes, but a symbolic moment designed to warmly welcome new students and immediately convey the spirit that defines the school. A true Welcome Day, which transformed the opening of the 2025/26 academic year into an occasion for meeting, dialogue, and inspiration.

Discovering New Opportunities

From the moment they arrived, students were guided through the many dimensions that make their journey at Istituto Marangoni unique. They learned about services dedicated to student life through IM LIFE, explored the resources offered by the Academics department, and discovered extracurricular opportunities provided by the Career Service. This itinerary highlighted not only the academic dimension, but also the experiential and community aspects that accompany every student at Istituto Marangoni.

Words of Welcome

The central moment of the day was marked by the institutional greetings. School Director Barbara Toscano emphasized Milan’s role as an international design capital and the value of a school capable of connecting education, research, and the professional world.

Director of Education Sergio Nava encouraged students to approach the year with curiosity, openness, and a critical mindset, reminding them that true learning does not happen only in the classroom, but above all through dialogue with peers, faculty, and professionals.

Following this, Art Director and Brand Ambassador Giulio Cappellini captured students’ attention with an engaging and passionate message:

“The world of design is a beautiful world. It’s not true that everything has already been created. There is still so much to do, and here at Marangoni you will have the chance to experiment, to try, to make mistakes, and to engage with your teachers. The experience here is extraordinary: on one hand, you will learn from excellent instructors, and on the other, you will have the opportunity to challenge yourselves and each other.”

After the official speeches, the school spaces came alive with a convivial reception designed to encourage social interaction.
