A fusion of cultures, a passion for travel and a strong love affair with fashion is the combination that enabled Yusun Jang, a young designer and Istituto Marangoni former student, to embark on a long journey from Seoul and eventually settle in Milano to fulfil her dream. In collaboration with her partner Alessandro Corti, she’s been making herself known in the fashion industry lately, after the launch of the accessories brand Corti Milano last year. Yunsun graduated in textile designing in Seoul. She then moved to Milano and completed a fashion accessories postgraduate course at Istituto Marangoni. She has worked with some of the most prestigious fashion brands for over ten years including John Richmond, MCM Worldwide and Etro before she got to the turning point with Corti Milano. The 3D triangle-pattern brand specializing in high-end accessories, mainly handbags and scarves at the moment entirely Made in Italy, was inspired by two of Alessandro and Yusun’s greatest passions, travel and animals, enriched by the belief that style must go hand in hand with fun, given the relentless passing of time that further enforces the principle of not wasting a precious moment. After an initial trial period, their first collection was presented in February at the 2014 edition of Super, organized by Pitti Immagine and Fiera Milano. Their accessories went down very well and boutiques in the important fashion districts like Milano, Porto Cervo and Casablanca are starting to push their new trend and trade their items. The next step will be extending their product line to include shoes and clothing, and developing new market outlets abroad, especially in Paris.
