Poltrona Frau Living Modules for Mars

Explored by the Interior Design department, the research theme Spaced Proximity faces the challenge of extending the human presence in outer space by creating interplanetary habitats. Designers already use alternative resources, regenerative systems, robotics and advanced technologies to shape new life forms. Building on previous design explorations for extreme environments, including the recent 3D printed modules, the students' projects use Poltrona Frau products to set up advanced interiors and create "sentient" indoor environments that respond actively to human needs and co-evolve with them when facing extreme conditions.
