CREATIVE VISION
Contrivance embodies a deeply personal conflict, caught between societal pressures and the process of personal evolution. Built around the intricate craft of embroidery, the collection embraces maximalist language, dense colour patterns, and rich textures to represent the complexity of life lived between opposing forces. Navigating the blurred space between black and white, the garments express vulnerability, growth, and the beauty of chaos.
THE DESIGNER VOICE
“My name is Naisha Khan, and I’m from New Delhi, India. My work usually is a pictorial representation of my mental health—describing how the darkest of times can bloom into something bigger and better in life. To showcase this state, I make use of maximalist elements in print development and highlight them with different techniques of embroidery to make the garments look overwhelming yet pleasing to the audience.”
