Cult&Must @Superstudio

For the 60th Salone del Mobile, Istituto Marangoni Milano Design will talk about its evolution over the years with the installation "Culture is the mirror of society" curated by Matteo Agati, Designer, Istituto Marangoni Design School Alumnus and member of the Prisma Project. The project will be exhibited as part of Cult&Must, an initiative by Superstudio under the artistic direction of Giulio Cappellini, which will take place on 27, Via Tortona, Milan.

Cult&Must 2000/2020 is a real act of love for design and for the designers who have left their mark on the international design scene over the last twenty years, devising solutions, objects, furnishings and decorations capable of affecting the daily life of individuals and their perception of private and social spaces.

Conceived by Superstudio, under the artistic direction of Giulio Cappellini - Architect and Art Director & Brand Ambassador at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design - Cult&Must aims to narrate the icons of the new millennium, created by leading design studios and developed by internationally renowned brands.

The work of Matteo Agati, Designer, School Alumnus and member of the Prisma Project, is a reflection on the dual nature of Istituto Marangoni within the Design system. The interior walls - covered with six different wallpapers, designed by the students themselves - and the videos that will loop across three different screens, translate the projects developed by the school’s young talent into an exhibition. The mirrored exterior of the hexagonal structure is a symbol of openness towards the Design world and the close link between the School and the industry.

"Cult&Must is a true contemporary museum enclosing the projects that have made the history of international design, which have influenced the daily lives of all of us. It was our duty to include a work that tells the impact of Istituto Marangoni Milano Design on the training of professionals in the field, preparing the designers of tomorrow" says Giulio Cappellini, Art Director of the project and Art Director & Brand Ambassador at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design.
