Born in Seoul, South Korea, Ayoung Ji completed a BA with first class honours in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni London. The winner of Istituto Marangoni's Intercampus Prize, she also completed a master's with full scholarship at Istituto Marangoni Milano. A keen traveller, her work is majorly influenced by her cross-cultural experiences, taking particular inspiration from local cultures to mould her style and passion for fashion. Always looking to blend art into her collections, she favours experimental design, and the use of extreme colours and new materials to create interesting, wearable design. After an internship at Celine in London, and participation in the fashion show for Marie Claire Fashion Days, invited by Marie Claire Hungary, in 2014 her designs were part of the "Passion, Creation, Obsession" exhibition organized in Milano by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. In the same year, she started working in Milano as womenswear designer for Redemption, designing RTW collections and red carpet dresses. Since 2023, she works at Etro as Senior Womenswear Designer.
