Peruvian designer Paola Gamero is currently based in her country of origin paving her path to success in the Fashion industry as a skilful, constantly evolving professional with a mission to cater for self-aware, never acquiescent women. Daughter to an interior designer and grandchild to a furniture designer, as a child Paola would buy fabrics to fashion her own garments, for the sole purpose of looking different from her peers. After graduating in Business Administration at the University of Lima, Paola studied Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni Milano, where her passion bloomed into the profession she holds today. Back to Peru, in 2013, she established her own brand to design evening dresses and wedding gowns using a wide range of fabrics imported from Europe or crafted by local artisans. Well aware of the tastes and needs of contemporary women, Paola does not disdain to shift to new inspiration sources and materials season after season, thus evolving gradually from sensual organza, embroidery and silk to wilder materials such as baby alpaca, suede and leather. In this way, she is proud to propose something different every year, drawing on the many stories and cultures she has come in touch with over the years while travelling the world far and wide. Her latest masterstroke has been the use of organic textiles in sweaters, coats, shawls and other garments, through which she is currently exploring Peruvian identity in a brand new prêt-à-porter line. Her collections have been featured on the local press and presented at major international events such as LIF-Week Peru, Vancouver Fashion Week, Mastercard Toronto Fashion Week and in New York City.
