Yu Bo Lin and Li Chen Tan met during the Master in Fashion Design Womenswear at Milan School of Fashion in 2015. Despite their different cultural background, Yu Bo comes from Shanghai while Li Chen is from Malaysia, they became friends thanks to common passions and interests. Their friendship later turned into a beautiful partnership: the two girls decided to found their own brand, THISNORTHAT, which was showcased for the first time during Shanghai Fashion Week (March 2018). According to the brand concept, we all access and experience a number of possibilities that have no boundaries, no labeling, no rules and no gender. THISNORTHAT interestingly presents a childlike sense that comes along with an adult vision in responding to some serious social problems of our era. The message two girls want to express is that nobody is a duplicate of anyone, but simply everyone makes a journey to develop ones own esthetic values.
