The Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Management, Digital Communication and Media at Istituto Marangoni Riyadh combines fashion business with contemporary communication, preparingstudents for roles in marketing, brand strategy, digital media and event management.
Year 1 provides a cross-disciplinary view of the creative industries through workshops in fashion management, fashion image, fashion, product, interior and visual design, complemented by research methods, fine arts, Italian creative culture, sustainability and AI.
The second year places the fashion product at the centre of study. Basic design, fashion design, image digital processing and materials science develop product awareness, whilesociology, anthropology and psychology of fashion and visual communication techniques introduce the cultural and communicative dimensions of the sector.
In Year 3, students examine how fashion moves from conception to market, linking production processes with communication science, multimedia planning, publishing, communication strategy and business organisation. The final year brings strategic and creative disciplines together through art direction, corporate and brand communication, multimedia design and image semiotics, enabling students to devise campaigns, events and editorial outputs before completing a dissertation and industry internship.
Saudi students seeking support through the Cultural Scholarship Program must also submit a separate application through the Cultural Scholarship Platform. Applicants seeking a scholarship are required to complete both applications separately within the application period.

Exploring brands, culture, and communication
The first year introduces students to the creative industries through an interdisciplinary experience that combines design, communication, visual culture, and critical thinking.
Semester 1 immerses students in practical workshops covering product design, fashion image, fashion management, and visual design, supported by design and research methods, fine arts, global culture and contextual studies, and English language development.
In Semester 2, students broaden their perspective through fashion design, interior design, and fragrances & cosmetics, while also exploring Italian creative culture, sustainability fundamentals, AI essentials, entrepreneurial mindset, soft skills, and specialist terminology.
The year concludes with a first portfolio that translates research and observation into early concepts for brands, communication projects, and visual narratives.
YEAR 2 (SEMESTERS 3 AND 4)
Understanding fashion as product and cultural phenomenon
The second year helps students develop a deeper understanding of fashion by examining both its creative and cultural dimensions.
During Semester 3, students combine basic design, fashion design, and image digital processing with studies in the history of applied arts and the sociology, anthropology, and psychology of fashion.
A foreign language further strengthens their international outlook and communication skills.
Semester 4 introduces materials science and technology together with techniques of visual communication, providing a broader understanding of how products, messages, and audiences interact within the fashion system.
Free study activities offer opportunities to pursue individual interests and begin defining a personal area of focus.
YEAR 3 (SEMESTERS 5 AND 6)
Connecting creativity, business, and media
Year 3 bridges product knowledge with the commercial and communication dynamics that shape the contemporary fashion industry.
In Semester 5, students explore production and fashion product development from conception to consumer, supported by contemporary fashion criticism, communication science, and multimedia planning.
Semester 6 shifts the focus toward publishing design, communication strategies, and fashion business organisation, helping students understand how coordinated content is planned and distributed across print and digital platforms.
This year enables students to connect creative thinking with strategic communication and brand positioning.
YEAR 4 (SEMESTERS 7 AND 8)
Strategic communication and professional practice
The final year integrates management, communication, and creative direction into a comprehensive professional framework.
Semester 7 combines product design, art direction, image semiotics, multimedia design, and corporate communication with dissertation development, allowing students to strengthen both conceptual and strategic capabilities.
In Semester 8, the focus moves to brand communication and a professional internship with fashion brands, agencies, or media organisations.
This final experience enables students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts
The skills and knowledge developed throughout the four-year Bachelor degree course prepare students for a wide range of career opportunities across the industry.
