CAMPANA BROTHERS
Co-founded in 1984 by brothers Fernando and Humberto, Estudio Campana has achieved national and international recognition for its furniture design and intriguing pieces. In 2019, the studio celebrated its 35th anniversary acknowledged as pioneers of disruptive design, which led them to create a groundbreaking language in their field. Strongly rooted in Brazilian culture and traditions, their work carries universal values in its core, such as freedom and human dignity. By incorporating the idea of transformation and reinvention, their creative process raises everyday materials to nobility, bringing not only creativity into design, but also Brazilian characteristics - the colors, the mixtures, the creative chaos - the triumph of simple solutions, in an artistic and poetic way.
During the talk, part of Enhancing The Future project, Humberto went through their best and meaningful creations, underlining the importance of materials selection and sustainability.
About the pandemic, he described his feeling of frustration, as he used to travel, walking the streets to get inspirations, but to help himself in a moment of crisis, he developed a diary of the quarantine with collages from design magazines so to express his feelings, his hopes, his mood, his dreams.
