Supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, Circular Fashion Summit is taking place on 9 - 12 December 2021, running on lablaco’s circular fashion metaverse platform — SPIN, at the digital twin of the historical Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris.

Diana Murek, Istituto Marangoni Milano Director of Education, will be part of the speakers panel with an insightful contribution on diversity in fashion education and on the importance of educating the new generation towards a new mindset.

CFS 2021 will gather leaders of change from design, technology, and sustainability to share knowledge, but most importantly to ignite immediate action on 3 measurable goals, accelerating a digitized circular economy for fashion.

The summit is a celebration of impactful design, evolutionary partnerships, and opportunities for the fashion industry to transition to a digitized circular economy. It’s a space to implement real solutions and make positive change happen collectively.

As Academic Partner, Istituto Marangoni will support CFS to accelerate the transition towards a digitized and connected circular economy amongst students and faculty.

CFS Academia Program, which will take place in the 12-months after the summit, will allow 35 selected students from all over the world to join the global collective actions of the summit set out to accelerate industry innovation.

Students will also be able to network with industry professionals in the fashion metaverse platform, to exchange ideas and learn more about the skills they will need to develop for the upcoming future.

Students and faculty members that take part in the program will build common knowledge about circular fashion, digitize and sell their graduate collections through SPIN, and discuss fashion’s sustainable future, in four quarterly workshops.

While combating fashion’s waste problem is a huge issue, Circular Fashion Summit believes that big change starts small, prioritizing scalable action.

The summit itself this year will focus on SDG Goals 9, 10, and 12—reducing inequality, supporting responsible consumption and production, and upgrading infrastructure to make them more sustainable.

Education for the next generation of designers will be an integral part of implementing these changes on a global scale.
