The creative flair of Istituto Marangoni Milano Fashion Styling students met the excellence of Borsalino, a renowned Italian luxury brand with more than 160 years of expertise. The project celebrates self-expression and diversity starting from the hat, seen as an accessory during the Fashion Styling course, which prepares young creatives in visual communication, teaching them how to recognise, reinvent and redefine the style of a garment, product or brand through influential images.

The challenge presented to aspiring Istituto Marangoni stylists stems from a desire to reverse the traditional process of styling a look, this time starting from the choice of the accessory as the first step. The result of this expressive exercise is the highlight of the new Borsalino campaign, shot along Milan’s most iconic streets by the famed photographer Joseph Cardo, which sees the students in the dual role of stylists and models. The project gave voice to the creative vision of young talents, guided by Art Director Giacomo Santucci • Creative Curator at Borsalino, and supported by Michela Guasco • Programme Leader of the Fashion Styling area atIstituto Marangoni Milano.

Each student was given the opportunity to choose a hat from the new Borsalino Fall Winter 21-22 collection and to create a special look, free from style constraints, where the hat stops being a simple accessory and becomes a way to promote the importance of diversity - conceived as a key element of innovation and cultural growth, which Borsalino aims to promote. Students also gave personal suggestions to Joseph Cardo to inspire a photo-shoot that fully expressed their personality and inner dimension.

Borsalino’s digital campaign will feature Maria Chiara Amirante, Ida Baghino, Giulia Bartoli, Giulia Cipriani, Riccardo Fontana, Luca Gonella, Alice Guerrieri, Arianna Lonati, Francesca Marchesi, Aurora Mattioli, Greta Monticone, Gaia Mottura, Giorgia Solbiati and Paolo Vecchies.
