ART, FASHION AND TV SERIES:  A FASCINATING CONNECTION TO EXPLORE

Fashion is undoubtedly a powerful storytelling tool.
It serves as a medium for symbolism and associations, allowing us to narrate, allude, and surprise. The world of TV series becomes even more captivating when we observe and analyse it through the lens of fashion and art.

THE CONTEST

From the red jumpsuit in La Casa de Papel, a uniform that erases social and individual differences to become a symbol of revolution and resistance, to the iconic Sex and the City and its sequel And Just Like That, where fashion turns into a language of identity and female empowerment; through Wednesday, which revived the dark style and reinterpreted gothic aesthetics, up to Euphoria, where bold and hypnotic looks embody the visual language of Gen Z, an interplay of individual expression, vulnerability, and emancipation.

Art and fashion in TV series not only define characters but also amplify their messages and contradictions, adding an extra layer of interpretation to the narratives. Additionally, TV series inspire fashion, turning characters into style icons and setting trends that influence our communication and clothing choices.

To explore this fascinating connection, participants are invited to create:

  • a 60-second creative video expressing the relationship between fashion, art, and TV series or a  moodboard featuring 9 evocative images visually representing this connection
  • A 500-word description explaining their concept

A jury made up of academic leaders from the schools and members of the Vogue editorial team will select the most deserving submissions.

THE SCHOLARSHIP
