Reimagining Luxury Fashion Project

HUGO BOSS X Istituto Marangoni London

Students of the Master's Degree in Fashion Design from the London School had the incredible chance to engage with HUGO BOSS industry professionals to explore the future of sustainable fashion. This project, in collaboration with the prestigious brand, led by Noorin Khamisani, Course Leader for Master's Degree in Fashion Design, focuses on upcycling returned suits into innovative designs. Located at our London campus, the initiative highlights the school’s commitment to sustainability, creativity, and industry engagement.

What does the future of sustainable fashion look like? At Istituto Marangoni London, students are answering this question through a hands-on collaboration with HUGO BOSS. The project challenges MA Fashion Design students to repurpose returned suits—materials that would otherwise be discarded—into innovative, upcycled designs.

Throughout the project,
Anna Schuster, the Sustainability Manager from HUGO BOSS, played a pivotal role. She delivered a presentation on sustainability and guided students through the process, helping them understand the importance of circular fashion and how to integrate sustainable practices into their work.

SUSTAINABILITY

The project challenges students to reduce waste by repurposing returned suits, contributing to a more circular fashion industry.

CREATIVITY

The initiative encourages students to think innovatively about design, transforming existing materials into unique, high-quality garments.

INDUSTRY COLLABORATION

The activity provides students with real-world experience and mentorship from HUGO BOSS professionals, bridging the gap between education and industry.

The collaboration culminated in a dynamic final presentation, where students showcased their upcycled creations to HUGO BOSS representatives and faculty. Each design reflected a unique blend of creativity and sustainability, demonstrating how returned suits could be transformed into high-fashion garments.
