Obsessed with design and future? Discover our Milano Design Week guide

Installations, musical events, exhibitions, parties, free tours, and oh-so-many visitors. We are talking about Milano Design Week, which floods the city with decorations and innovative products every year.

Of course, our Istituto Marangoni Milano Design School could not help but join in the fun. In a school as a design hub, students develop cutting-edge projects in partnership with leading Italian design companies yearly.

We have collected a parade of events and installations, all under the Istituto Marangoni umbrella. Check them out!

MIRAGE EXPANSION – @Istituto Marangoni Milano Design School, Via Cerva 24

A collaboration between Prisma Project and porcelain brand Mirage, this exhibition is supervised by our alumnus, designer and creative consultant Matteo Agati. Agati is part of Prisma, an experienced group of talented designers who graduated from the Istituto Marangoni Milano Design School and now carry on specific projects to enhance the Italian design brand sector. Mirage is an installation where boundaries are pushed beyond limits to experience a multiverse merging material, digital, natural and technological elements.

THE SENSE OF TOUCH – @Superstudio Più, Via Tortona 27

This exhibition will leave you speechless. By collaborating with E-NOVIA, our Product & Furniture Design Master’s students developed a series of design proposals for incorporating TouchDIVER in nine different products to explore the user experience in new and different ways in both the virtual and real worlds. TouchDIVER is an innovative technology (a wearable haptic glove) developed by Weart Company, enabling tactile experiences to be remotely transferred and applied to virtual and augmented reality, offering an expanded dimension of touch. Curious to feel a virtual object? Here’s your chance.

POLTRONA FRAU LIVING MODULES FOR MARS – @Istituto Marangoni Milano Design School, Via Cerva 24

Poltrona Frau asked interior design students to imagine human life on Mars, identifying a possible interplanetary future where the contemporary home is combined with a visionary environment, simulating living conditions on Earth. The installation was developed by alumna, architect, designer and creative strategist Alice Ballabio using artificial intelligence. Go and discover the project at the Design School.
