One of the world’s most renowned make-up artists is now taking over the creative make-up reins of the French company Kilian Paris (Estée Lauder group). If you are wondering who will take the luxury fragrance and beauty brand deeper into the realm of cosmetics, the answer is one and one only. Sir John has just joined the sophisticated and glamorous world of Kilian Paris as their first Makeup Creative Director.

By creating “a total arsenal of weapons of seduction,” he will infuse the brand with “a bold new vision in make-up,” as founder Kilian Hennessy explained. “He’s been an innovative makeup artist in the industry for over 15 years, working with celebrities and stellar artists of the music and fashion industries, making him the perfect partner for Kilian Paris.”

While Sir John is best known for his work with Beyoncé, including her glam at the 2022 Oscars, the pro has seen his fame take off after stars such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Serena Williams, Céline Dion, JLo, Zendaya, and Naomi Campbell – who happened to be his first celebrity client.

From painting dancers’ faces in a Queens strip club to assisting Pat McGrath backstage at catwalk shows, he has become the go-to makeup artist for major celebrities in fashion, music and entertainment. With over two decades of experience, the industry veteran is adding another role to his ever-evolving resume. Taking the Kilian Paris makeup to the next level, he will work closely with founder Kilian Hennessy to help shape the brand’s makeup vision, philosophy, artistry and innovation while embodying the ‘Don’t be Shy’ motto at the heart of Kilian Paris’ nightlife spirit.

“As the global voice of Kilian Paris makeup, Sir John will pull back the curtain and give the people access to digital behind-the-scenes moments, TikTok makeup tutorial sessions, and Instagram lives,” the brand promises. With the first chapter of this collaboration yet to be written around lipsticks, this sought-after makeup pro will work on the Le Rouge Parfum range. But they will continue with other creations focused mainly on night-out make-up.
