“Tuesday at Istituto Marangoni” is a monthly talk series designed to bring the fashion industry directly into the campus.

Hosted by Istituto Marangoni Riyadh, the initiative creates an ongoing dialogue between partecipants and professionals working across design, branding, business, and innovation. Each session offers an inside look at how careers are built, how brands evolve, and how creativity translates into strategy within today’s global fashion ecosystem.

Rather than focusing on theory alone, the talks are grounded in real experiences. Guests share personal journeys, key challenges, and practical insights, giving students access to the processes behind decision-making, growth, and positioning in a competitive industry.

Across different editions, the series explores multiple dimensions of fashion, from storytelling and customer behavior to experience design and multidisciplinary career paths.

NOVEMBER SESSION - SAMAR NASRALDIN

The inaugural session featured designer Samar Nasraldin, offering an honest and personal perspective on building a fashion brand from the ground up .

From early challenges to international expansion, she shared the realities behind developing a ready-to-wear label, highlighting the importance of resilience, strategic thinking, and external support systems. Her experience moving from the local Saudi market to a global stage provided partecipants with a clear understanding of the complexities involved in scaling a brand.

The session set the tone for the series, emphasizing transparency, lived experience, and the value of learning directly from industry professionals.

DECEMBER SESSION - BAKRY ALKAFF

In the second session, brand strategist Bakry Alkaff explored how consumers connect with fashion brands in today’s evolving landscape .

Focusing on storytelling and emotional engagement, he explained how the customer journey begins long before conscious discovery, shaped by cultural context, media exposure, and subtle visual cues. He highlighted the importance of authenticity and narrative in building lasting connections between brands and audiences.

Through his insights, students gained a deeper understanding of how perception, identity, and storytelling influence decision-making in fashion.

JANUARY SESSION - SARA GABBIONI

The third edition welcomed Sara Gabbioni, who guided partecipants through the structure of the contemporary customer journey .

Drawing from her experience in experience and strategy design, she mapped the full path from first brand interaction to post-purchase engagement, showing how each touchpoint contributes to building long-term loyalty. Through case studies and practical examples, she emphasized the importance of designing coherent ecosystems across physical and digital environments.

Her session highlighted how fashion today operates through interconnected experiences where consistency and user understanding are key.

FEBRUARY SESSION - NOUF ALSULAIMANI

Fashion designer and creative strategist Nouf Alsulaimani offered a broader perspective on career development within the industry.

Challenging the idea of fashion as a single-track path, she presented it as a multidisciplinary ecosystem where design intersects with business, communication, and strategy. She outlined the wide range of roles available, encouraging partecipants to explore opportunities beyond traditional creative positions.

MARCH SESSION - MASTERCLASS ON FASHION AND ART

Istituto Marangoni Riyadh hosted a masterclass exploring the relationship between fashion and art, showing how artistic movements and visual culture shape brand identity and creative direction. Through case studies from Schiaparelli to Prada, participants examined how artistic references translate into collections, materials, and narratives.

The session revealed how art is not just inspiration, but a structural force driving innovation, storytelling, and aesthetic evolution within the fashion system.
