This course is structured over 4 weeks:
Week 1 – 20 hours
Introduction to fashion drawing and design techniques; foundational principles of developing a fashion collection, including silhouette, color charts, fabric selection, and accessories.
Week 2 – 20 hours
Focus on materials (different type of fabrics, features and use of each of them); finishes, dyeing and printing; laces and embroidery; new technology and materials; sustainability and materials
Week 3 – 20 hours
Exploration of creative research process; analysis of the trend research path; forecasting of the new/upcoming trends (in terms of shape, colors, materials, volumes etc); analysis of how trends shape contemporary collections.
Week 4 – 15 hours
Creation of a basic fashion design collection supported by essential technical elements, including color charts, inspirational materials, and mood boards; presentation of the work and comprehensive feedback through a final holistic critique.
Classes are scheduled as follows:
– Sunday to Thursday: one evening class per day (6:00–9:00 PM)
– Saturday: two classes (10:00 AM–3:00 PM)
