Experiential Week: Exploring the Essence of Global Luxury

The students of the Master’s in Global Luxury Management for Business Professionals took part in an extraordinary Experiential Week, organised by Istituto Marangoni Milano in collaboration with POLIMI GSoM. This exclusive journey gave participants direct access to the world of luxury hospitality, fashion, beauty, design, and lifestyle, allowing them to step into spaces and dynamics that define the contemporary luxury landscape.

Throughout the week, students absorbed the energy of Milan and tapped into the extensive network of brands and professionals linked to Istituto Marangoni Milano. They experienced the Marangoni Method first-hand—centred on direct exchange, immersive learning, and ongoing dialogue with key industry figures.

A Journey into the World of Luxury

Throughout the week, students explored the world of luxury in all its dimensionsmoving from classrooms to companies, and from theory to hands-on immersions. Lessons alternated with tours of iconic brands and sensory experiences, creating a dynamic, engaging programme.

Discussions covered the evolution of beauty and hospitality, the business models powering today’s industry leaders, and the role of archives, museums, and cultural heritage in building brand value. Students also gained in-depth insights into new scenarios shaping luxury design and the strategies that are redefining contemporary retail.

It was an intense, comprehensive week, designed to give students a tangible, multidimensional understanding of both the complexity and immense potential of the luxury universe.

Experiential Week Highlights

Visit to Park Hyatt Milano

Students were welcomed inside the prestigious hotel in the heart of Milan, where the team—including the Director of Operations and HR—shared insights into the strategic vision and organisational intricacies behind a five-star establishment.

A guided tour of suites and iconic spaces offered participants a first-hand encounter with the standards, attention to detail, atmosphere, and managerial complexity that define luxury hospitality.

Tour and Tasting Experience at Ca’ del Bosco

In the heart of Franciacorta, students discovered the inner workings of one of Italy’s most renowned wineries.

From cellar tours to production walkthroughs and guided tastings, the experience highlighted how craftsmanship, heritage, quality, and storytelling shape a luxury wine brand’s positioning.

Olfactory Experience at the Jil Sander Boutique

At the Jil Sander boutique on Via Verri, students embarked on an exclusive olfactory journey, exploring the brand’s identity, aesthetic language, and philosophy through scent. This immersive session revealed how contemporary luxury thrives in its most subtle, intangible nuances.

This Experiential Week was far more than an academic programme—it was a transformative journey. Above all, they learned that luxury is not simply taught—it is lived, felt, and experienced. Students discovered luxury not as a simple industry, but as a living culturewoven from visions, people, places, and sensations. They observed, listened, tasted, and breathed the very essence of Italian creativity and excellence. Above all, they understood that luxury is not only taught—it is lived, felt, and experienced. This is precisely how Istituto Marangoni prepares the next generations of professionals to leave their mark on the world of luxury.
