Foundation in Fashion Online
Istituto Marangoni one-year foundation courses prepare participants for entry into any of the three-year undergraduate degree programmes, or three-year courses, in the fashion or design fields. This specific programme will be delivered through a cutting-edge blended formula, based on a thoughtfully-designed mix of learning methods and teaching methods: in addition to online-delivered contents, participants will have the chance to learn through in-person practical activities and onsite laboratories. Over the course of the year participants are offered exciting new challenges that will improve their creative thinking, develop their broader fashion, design & art skills, and help them to identify where their true passion lies.
This specifically-designed brand new course will be delivered in a blended format, taking advantage of both synchronous and asynchronous learning tools.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Istituto Marangoni's teaching and learning method, while being also provided all the skills that are necessary to progress in any of the full-time fashion or design three-year undergraduate programs.
This unique, brand-new learning formula is designed to engage participants with the most innovative and diverse teaching tools, blending together contents delivered in synchronous and asynchronous formats, all while adopting the latest academic technologies and platforms.
With a well-balanced alternation of live online sessions and offline modular contents, students will have the opportunity to manage their self-paced learning activities.
Moreover, their academic experience will be enhanced with a period of onsite didactical sessions - at the Istituto Marangoni Milano School of Fashion - to integrate and fulfill their learning path.
This educational blended model will ensure they gain first-hand knowledge of new technologies, hybrid creative environments, and contemporary fashion scenarios
The programme is structured around dedicated pathways that provide an overview of key aspects of the industry. For example, in the Fashion course, participants will be introduced to basic concepts of fashion design, fashion business, and fashion styling. All foundation year programs cover essential methods and techniques for exploring and researching fashion and design, as well as presenting skills, analyzing the fashion, design, and other creative industries, and examining the materials, tools, and techniques used in each area. Selected contents will be designed to be specifically experienced by students in a metaverse environment.
By utilizing an innovative set of online and interactive tools as well, students will develop an individual approach to creative expression and conceptual thinking, which they can further refine in their chosen undergraduate program. Academic fulfillment is at the heart of the study plan and is also incorporated with language study skills, concentrating on the communication of ideas in both verbal and written formats – with knowledge of subject-specific jargon provided.
Upon completion of the course, participants will have compiled a portfolio of work and gained the knowledge and skills they need to make an informed decision about the undergraduate program that best aligns with their interests, passions, and abilities.
